Getting old and to maintain your weight is tough to do. As we get older, we tend to gain weight because our metabolism slows down. I was chubby for five years after giving birth and it seemed that my appetite never changed since then. When I was pregnant, all I did was to eat and just assured myself to lose weight after giving birth. Unfortunately, it did not happen. But the day just came I realized that I really wanted to lose weight and really challenged myself. I went to the gym and got to my ideal weight after six months.
DIET TO MAINTAIN YOUR WEIGHT
I am going to share the tips that helped me maintain my weight. I hope this will work for you. There are days that are my less carbohydrates, moderate carbohydrates, and high carbohydrates. My less carbohydrates are every Mondays and Tuesdays. For Monday, in the morning , I just eat egg, no lunch, and for dinner, just fish/chicken and vegetables. This is the same on Tuesdays except that I eat lunch with fish/chicken or vegetables. Moderate carbohydrates are from Wednesdays to Fridays. I eat bread in the morning, fish/chicken or vegetables for lunch and dinner. I eat fruits and salads, too, for the fiber. About alcohol, I just drink occasionally, we know that beers contain high calories. I try to avoid eating snacks because most snacks are high in sugar and I noticed when I eat snacks , I easily gain weight. On Weekends, since it is my high carbohydrates days, I eat whatever I want, everything that I crave to eat. I drink two to three liters of water a day. I just drink soft drinks on weekends.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES TO MAINTAIN YOUR WEIGHT.
Aside from eating the right food to maintain your weight, you should consider the physical activities to help you burn calories and make you strong. I think many of you know that I jog three or four times a week. No matter how tired I am , I really make time to jog. I jog for an hour per day up to two kilometers. I also swim every week once. They say that jogging is the best exercise because all parts of body are moving. This is not a strenuous activity and yet helps you lose weight. I noticed also that after I swim, I feel light and not bloated.
ADJUSTMENTS ON THE PROCESS OF LOSING WEIGHT
At the early stage of the process, there will be adjustments to overcome when losing weight. At the start, you would feel hungry, but you should always think of why you wanted to lose weight. Yes the WHY! Just drink water when you feel hungry. Second is you will be experiencing slight headaches but this is just temporary and will pass. Your system will get used to it.
DISCIPLINE AND FOCUS ON MAINTAINING YOUR WEIGHT
The most difficult part of the process is maintaining your weight. Yes, you have achieved your ideal weight but the question for now is, can you maintain it? Discipline is a big factor in losing/maintaining weight. There will be days you feel relaxed and complacent since you have lost weight and you tend to eat a lot. I hope you will have the discipline and focus to sustain your goal. With these things I have shared with you, these have been effective to me because I was able to manage my weight for ten years already. I believe , you, guys, can make it, too. Good luck!
